Financial Aid

Financial Aid for the MSIT program is handled by the Heinz School Financial Aid Office. The financial aid process can take up to several weeks to finalize, so it is best to begin the application process at least 6 to 8 weeks before the beginning of the semester in which you plan to enroll. The Financial Aid Office staff understands the needs of students and the challenges they face in financing their graduate education. If you have questions about financial aid or if you need direction in completing financial aid forms, please contact our office. You'll find a friendly, informed, and student-focused staff to assist you!

Mission Statement

The mission of the Heinz School Financial Aid Office is to guide and assist students in securing the financial means to pursue higher education. We will strive to do so in a respectful, confidential and comfortable environment where students know they will be assisted by friendly, courteous and understanding staff. We will seek new knowledge so that we can provide students with accurate, up-to-date information about financial options. We will educate students about their financial rights and responsibilities to enable them to make informed decisions about their educational funding and to encourage responsible borrowing and repayment practices. We will provide quality, timely and individual attention and will always act in the best interest of the student in accordance with federal regulations and institutional policies.

We will be collaborative and professional in our interactions with Heinz School staff and faculty members and the larger Carnegie Mellon University community. We will proactively support the school's goal of enrolling and educating a talented, dynamic and diverse student body and will serve as a resource to present, past and future students.
