Requirements
CIO Certificate
Executives interested in admission to the Federal CIO Certificate Program are required to:
- Submit a CIO Institute online registration form
- Email a current resume or curriculum vitae to cioi@cmu.edu
- Provide documentation of an undergraduate degree and/or a minimum of five (5) years professional experience and/or demonstration of progressively increasing management/leadership responsibility.
Note: Candidates whose native language is not English and who have not earned a bachelor's degree from a U.S., U.K., Canadian, or Australian / New Zealand institution, or who have not worked for a minimum of five (5) years with a U.S., U.K., Canadian, or Australian / New Zealand organization, must also submit TOEFL test scores and official English translations of all required academic documents.
CIO Certificate to MSIT Degree
The MSIT distance degree requires all students to have an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution and at least 3 years of professional work experience. For admission under the CIOI-MSIT partnership, enrollment in the CIO Institute's Federal CIO Certificate Program and completion of two CIO Certificate courses are also prerequisites. We will waive the GRE/GMAT score requirement for CIO participants, all other application requirements apply.
